New Construction: Hang, Tape and Finish

On a new home the drywall stage decides how every room will look once it's painted. We plan the board layout to keep butt joints out of the light, use longer sheets where they make sense to cut down on seams, and set corner bead straight and tight. Joints are taped, filled and feathered in several coats and sanded to a level that suits the finish you want. Rooms with strong window light or flat paint get extra attention, because that's where poor finishing shows first.

If you're building on your own land in Grayson County, drywall can be part of the full build or a separate scope once framing, insulation and rough-ins are done.

Additions and Basements

Additions and basement finishing come with their own drywall problems. On an addition the new walls have to meet the old ones without a visible line, and the ceiling has to tie in cleanly. In a basement, we look at moisture before any board goes up, and use moisture- and mold-resistant board where it makes sense, especially near exterior walls, utility areas and bathrooms. Drywall Repair: Holes, Cracks and Water Damage

Not every job is a whole house. We also handle:

• Holes from doorknobs, moved fixtures, plumbing access or accidents
• Cracks at corners, over doors and windows, and along ceiling seams, including nail pops and tape that has lifted
• Water damage from roof, plumbing or appliance leaks. Once the leak is fixed and the area is dry, stained or soft board gets cut out and replaced rather than just painted over

Repairs are blended into the surrounding wall so the patch disappears once it's primed and painted.

Ceiling Textures: Knockdown, Smooth and Matching

Ceilings take the most light and show the most flaws. We can do a smooth finish, knockdown, or match an existing texture so a repair or an addition doesn't stand out. If you're ready to retire an old textured ceiling, we can talk through whether skimming it smooth or replacing the board makes more sense for your house.

Lake Homes and Cabins

Homes around Nolin Lake and Rough River Lake often sit closed up for weeks and then get heavy use, which is hard on drywall.
